Ingredients: LOVE, coconut oil, olive oil, Rosemary, Lobelia, Arnica, Meadowseet, Hyssop, Sage, Horse Chestnut, Cayenne Pepper, and the essential oils of Helichrysum, Peppermint, and Juniper Berry.

Get to know the herbs:

Arnica is well-known plant with golden yellow daisy-like flowers. Arnica has been used for centuries to relieve pain and inflammation from sprains, bruises, sore muscles, stressed ligaments and tendons, and arthritis. In fact, it is often referred to as the "aches and pains" herb. Arnica plays a role in helping to improve the local blood supply and speed up healing.

Cayenne powder is one of the main ingredients in this salve and has a really ancient history dating as far back as 7,000 years ago. Naturally anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic, cayenne pepper contains a constituent called capsaicin. The reason that Cayenne works so well for muscle and nerve pain is because the capsaicin in it blocks a neurotransmitter, called Substance P (SP), that transmits pain signals from the nerves to the central nervous system. When cayenne is used topically, it can help relieve all sorts of pain, from nephropathy, back pain, muscles spasms, menstrual cramps, and even arthritis.

Peppermint is fantastic for use in muscle soothing salves. Naturally anti-inflammatory and analgesic, most members of the mint family help to relieve pain and reduce inflammation.

Meadowsweet- In 1838 chemists isolated salicylic acid from its flower buds (as well as from the bark of the willow tree). In 1899 the drug company Bayer formulated a new synthetic drug, acetylsalicylic acid, and called it "aspirin" - derived from the former botanical name for meadowsweet, Spirea ulmaria. Meadowsweet, often referred to as "herbal aspirin," has a cooling energy with astringent, antirheumatic, analgesic, diuretic, anti-inflammatory, exfoliate, and antispasmodic properties.

Rosemary leaf – Rosemary is a well-known muscle pain reliever, and can help reduce swelling in strained muscles. The herb has four anti-inflammatory properties, which can help calm inflamed muscle tissue and speed healing.

Helichrysum is topically applied, and as such helps improve virtually all pain in the muscular-skeletal system: Muscles, joints, tendons and ligaments. All kinds of back pain and neck pain can be helped, as are traumatic injuries such as bruises, sprains and strains. Within Helichrysum essential oil, one finds chemicals naturally made by the plant’s flowers that 1) reduce inflammation and act as chelators (they can remove unwanted toxins), 2) prevent bruising and blood clots, 3) relax tight muscles and connective tissue, and 4) stimulate cellular regeneration. All in one oil! And it’s these components that work together to offer pain relief — in a big way.
