This salve is made only from spring's first emerging herbs that I hand gathered on my property. The joy and sheer love of harvesting these herbs is translated into each tin. This recipe was created for dry and itchy hands, hands that are irritated from over washing, change of the seasons, and need a cooling and deep moisturizing boost after a long day of working the soil.
Ingredients: LOVE, dead nettle, plantain, dandelion, sweet violet, dock, olive oil, coconut oil, vitamin E, and beeswax.
Get to know the herbs:
Violet is used for dry or chafed skin, abrasions, insect bites, eczema, varicose veins and hemorrhoids. It is cooling, soothing, and anti-inflammatory.
Chickweed- is excellent for the skin externally as an emollient. It has a cooling and drying effect on wounds and skin eruptions. Minor burns respond nicely to chickweed’s care. Chickweed is especially useful as a topical herb to ease itching and irritations.
Plantain has long been considered by herbalists to be useful for inflamed skin or dermatitis, insect bites and stings, eczema , and small wounds or cuts.
Dead Nettle is anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, and anti-fungal.
Dock is used in this salve for chronic skin diseases, dermatitis, rashes, obstructive jaundice, and psoriasis.
